'Repeat or change?'
It depends on the situation. If the current approach is not working and there is a need for improvement, then a change may be necessary. However, if the current approach is effective and yielding positive results, then it may be best to repeat it. It's important to evaluate the situation and consider the potential impact of repeating or changing the approach before making a decision.

Can evolution repeat itself?
Evolution is a process driven by random mutations and natural selection, so it is theoretically possible for similar traits or adaptations to evolve independently in different lineages. This phenomenon is known as convergent evolution, where different species develop similar traits in response to similar environmental pressures. While evolution can produce similar outcomes in different lineages, it is not a predictable or repeatable process, as it is influenced by a multitude of factors and chance events. Therefore, while evolution can lead to similar solutions to environmental challenges, it is not a deterministic process that can be repeated in exactly the same way.

Repeat When Necessary
Originally released on Led Zeppelin's Swan Song label in 1979, 'Repeat When Necessary' went on to become Dave Edmunds' biggest album. The album was not only his first to chart in the U.K. but his first to make the U.S. Billboard 200. Its lead single, the Elvis Costello-penned 'Girls Talk', became Dave's biggest hit single since his revival of 'I Hear You Knocking', an international smash in 1970. Dave Edmunds and his Rockpile colleagues (including Nick Lowe, who is also featured on this album) epitomized the back-to-basics approach of Great Britain's pub rock scene. The band also incorporated strong power pop and rockabilly influences and paved the way for new wave. This fusion was arguably never more potent than on this album. 7A Records were granted full access to the original master tapes and the album has been remastered for vinyl by Roger Béchirian, who was also the studio engineer for the original release. The album comes in a gatefold sleeve featuring extensive sleeve notes and song lyrics and is pressed on red 180g audiophile vinyl.

Patterns in Repeat
Grammy nominated and Mercury Prize nominated Laura Marling is back with her eighth studio album 'Patterns in Repeat'. Now eight albums and 15+ years into her career as one of the most acclaimed, prolific and respected songwriters of her generation (multiple Grammy nominations, Mercury nods a Brit Award and more), in 'Patterns in Repeat' Laura aims to occupy different spaces and continues to surprise: 'Laura Marling is not quite who you might think she is'. Written after the birth of her daughter in 2023 (and recorded with her in the room beside Laura), 'Patterns in Repeat' now finds Laura reflecting on her own experience becoming a mother. The sounds are grounded in a specific and revelatory time in Laura's life, but more broadly dive deeper into her reckoning with the ideas and behaviours we pass down through family over generations. Almost entirely acoustic with minimal overdubbing and elegantly placed orchestral accents, this is the most focused, subtle and sharpest collection of Laura's career.
